How did the #4 U.S. Port Take the Spotlight from the West Coast Giants?
By creating the industry’s best collection of integrated communications materials.
Congratulations to the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) for being the first East Coast port to win the Dan Maynard Communications Award for Overall Excellence from the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA).
This award speaks to GPA’s integrated communications across diverse channels and their collaborative approach to building the most effective strategy and focusing on the right tactics to carry it through. This best-in-show award is one of 27 that the GPA took home to Savannah this year.
As part of the GPA communications team, Realm is proud to play a role in the port’s success. The “We Do More Than Other Ports” campaign, launched in 2013, has been supported online and offline with web presences and in ads. The new messaging has helped clarify the core essence of the GPA brand.
“We took this opportunity to adjust the GPA voice in the marketplace,” said Realm Creative Director Michael Stewart. “The new voice is confident and precise, making facts and stats relevant to our customers. We don’t speak in vague sales language. We are the Georgia Ports Authority! The new messaging is helping the whole marketplace see the Port of Savannah with new eyes and take notice.”
Partners prefer working with the Ports of Savannah and Brunswick because of the people, the investments by management, and the port’s commitment to seeing their customers’ real needs, not just their cargo. For everyone they work with, the GPA simply does more.
With categories ranging from ads and websites to videos and overall campaigns, the AAPA Communications Awards recognize excellence in port communications. The AAPA is an Alliance of the Ports of Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America and the United States.
